Heating water tanks are reservoirs that store excess energy produced by heating systems such as boilers, heat pumps and cogeneration plants when that energy is not currently needed. This excess is kept in the tank and is used later by the heating system as needed. The combined accumulator is a type of inertia tank that includes not only a heating water tank, but also a domestic hot water (DHW) tank. The hot water is heated by a heat exchanger integrated into the inertia tank.
